In hard water areas, scale builds up within the pipework which can cause blockages. Stackpipes need to be maintained on a regular basis.

Small bore pipework can also be compromised by the build-up of uric acids and other waste products. These can be very corrosive and dilapidate the pipework over a period of time if maintenance of these pipes is not regularly carried out.
